Resumo: Gender conflict, fear of female sexuality and then magic to prevent women from predominating a society are a common topic in tales almost all over Africa and perhaps throughout the world. The Jukun of Northeastern Nigeria are, however, an extreme example for an almost overwhelming fear of female sexuality and are a whole society bound together by magic and fear.
