procurar aferir até que ponto o sucesso educativo alcançado neste contexto se revelaria facilitador duma posterior reinserção sócio-profissional.
Através da revisão bibliogiráfica procurámos aprofundar algumas noções que considerámos relevantes para uma maior compreensão da criminalidade e da antisocialidade. Assumimos como importante conhecer algumas das teorias explicativas da origem da delinquência, nas várias áreas cientificas, bem como analisar o sistema prisional desde as suas origens até à actualidade.
Ao longo do estudo foram utilizados vários instrumentos de pesquisa e recolha de informação, nomeadamente: " questionários e entrevistas aos alunos-reclusos, questionários aos professores e entrevistas aos Técnicos dos Serviços de Educação e Ensino do Estabelecimento Prisional e Regional de Beja, que constituiu o nosso campo de investigação.
Na sua generalidade, e após a análise dos dados recolhidos, fomos confrontados com uma dura realidade: a escola é importante, mas será que ela realmente facilita a reinserção social? Qual é a resposta que a sociedade oferece ao ex-recluso?
Esperamos ter contribuído para uma melhor compreensão de uma realidade que é cada vez mais evidente na nossa sociedade, e que o questionário construido seja um elemento de recolha de informação útil e aplicável em outros Estabelecimentos Prisionais.
The aim of our study was to analyse the educational relation in an imprisomnent environment and try to verify to what extent the educational success achieved in this context would reveal itself as facilitator of a posterior social and professional reintegration. By the bibliographical revision we tried to deepen some notions that we considered relevant to a better Lmderstanding of criminality and anti-sociality. We assumed that it was important to know some of the theories which tried to explain the origin of delinquency, in several scientific areas, as well as analyse the imprisomnent system since its origins until nowadays- Throughout the study different research and data collection instruments were used, namely: questiomraires and interviews to the students, questionnaires to the teachers and interviews to the Technicians of the educational and Teaching Services of the Prison Facility ofBeja, which constituted our investigation field. Generally, and after the analysis of the collected data, we were confronted with a harsh reality: school is important, but does it really facilitate social reintegration? What is the answer that society offers to the former prisoner? We hope that we have contributed to a better understanding of a reality which is more and more evident in our society, and that the questionnaire that was built may be a useful element of data collection and that it may be used in other Prison Facilities.
