- Validation of the Portuguese version of the Female Sexual Function Index-6Publication . Objective: The purpose of the present study was to validate a Portuguese version of the Female Sexual Function Index-6 (FSFI-6), a short scale that assesses female sexual function. Material and methods: A total of 375 women, subdivided in a community sample (n = 307) and in a clinical sample (n = 68), participated in this study by completing the Portuguese version of the questionnaire. Results: The main psychometric properties of the Portuguese version of the FSFI-6 were demonstrated. Discussion: The original unidimensional structure of the FSFI-6 was replicated and good values were also obtained in terms of internal consistency, convergent validity, divergent validity, and known-groups validity. Conclusions: The use of the Portuguese version of the FSFI-6 is justified since it has sound psychometric properties. (C) 2016 Asociacion Espanola de Andrologia, Medicina Sexual y Reproductiva. - Psychopathy and behavior problems: a comparison of incarcerated male and female juvenile delinquentsPublication . Pechorro, Pedro Santos; Vieira, Duarte Nuno; Poiares, Carlos Alberto; Vieira, Rui Xavier; Maroco, Joao; Neves de Jesus, Saul; Nunes, CristinaThe objective of the present study was to compare incarcerated male and female juvenile offenders regarding psychopathic traits, behavior problems, psychopathy taxon, conduct disorder, self-reported delinquent behavior, and crime seriousness. Within a total forensic sample of 261 detainee participants, subdivided in a male group (n = 217) and a female group (n = 44), statistically significant differences were found. Female juvenile offenders show less callous-unemotional traits, more emotional symptoms, more prosocial behaviors, less self-reported delinquent behavior, and lower crime seriousness. Conduct disorder prevalence was very high, but no statistically significant gender differences were found. The predictive importance of psychopathic traits, behavior problems, psychopathy taxon, and conduct disorder for the prediction of group membership (female versus male) was established by binary logistic regression. Pechorro, Pedro Santos; Pascoal, Patricia Monteiro; Jesus, Saúl; Almeida, Ana Isabel; Figueiredo, Catarina Soares; Vieira, Rui XavierIntroduction: Sexual satisfaction is an essential construct in the study of human sexualityObjective: The aim of the present study was to validate the Portuguese version of the New Sexual Satisfaction Scale-Short (NSSS-S), a short form scale that assesses sexual satisfaction among men and women.Material and methods: A total of 298 participants completed the Portuguese version of the NSSS-S.Results: The main psychometric properties of the Portuguese version of the NSSS-S were assessed, most importantly the two-factor structure and Cronbach's alpha (>= 0.89).Discussion: The NSSS-S revealed the bidimensional structure of the original NSSS and good values were obtained in terms of internal consistency, convergent validity, divergent validity and concurrent validity.Conclusions: The use of the Portuguese version of the NSSS-S is justified and reinforced since it has sound psychometric properties.
