| dc.description.abstract | Ação Lixo Marinho! is a Portuguese nation-wide Ocean Literacy awareness project that uses citizen science activities of marine litter monitoring as one of the strategies to draw attention of the participants towards a responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) and the conservation and sustainable use of the oceans, seas and marine resources (SDG 14). Due to conclude in March 2022, this project serves as a kickstart to achieve these goals in the long term, with all 12 entities involved in it contributing to an increased engagement in reducing pollution in the marine environment while promoting circular economy, sustainable consumption and waste reduction across the whole of Portuguese society.
