Nelson, Benjamin Vincent; Zacarias, MarielbaOver the past two decades, school management information systems have become essential to the operation of schools throughout the world. In Portugal, recent changes to the organizational structure of schools, notably the move towards mega-clusters, have presented new challenges for such systems, which for the most part have not yet been met. This project, carried out at the behest of a Portuguese software development house (Singlecode LDA), proposes a new school management information system for Portuguese school mega-clusters. A system is designed using an iterative and incremental methodology, proposing solutions for many of the problems identified and attempting to meet the needs of the modern school. The system was partially implemented and evaluation was performed by potential users, with positive feedback.
