  • A importância da cultura organizacional na gestão da satisfação dos trabalhadores de três serviços de saúde públicos

    Contexto e Objetivo: A relevância de uma investigação empírica no setor da saúde e em meio hospitalar surge do facto de estes serem contextos emergentes e complexos, onde a problemática do comportamento organizacional e, em particular da satisfação profissional, tem sido alvo de atenção por parte dos gestores. Torna-se assim premente a pluralidade de saberes e cooperação multidisciplinar de áreas científicas para uma melhor compreensão da importância da gestão da satisfação nas organizações de saúde. Apesar dos inúmeros fatores considerados críticos para o sucesso da gestão da satisfação, cingiu-se o estudo à cultura organizacional, procurando-se analisar o perfil e a sua relação com a gestão da satisfação dos trabalhadores de três serviços que integram um departamento de um hospital público de saúde. Método: O estudo, de natureza quantitativa e de corte transversal, assentou num fenómeno singular de características únicas — o Departamento de Ginecologia/Obstetrícia e Reprodução Humana de uma Unidade Hospitalar —, recorrendo ao Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI), traduzido e adaptado para a língua portuguesa. O OCAI foi aplicado a 136 trabalhadores com cargos e funções profissionais distintas dos três serviços do departamento. O instrumento utilizado foi validado, apresentando boas qualidades psicométricas. Resultados: A perceção dos trabalhadores sobre os diferentes serviços do departamento evidenciou congruências em relação à cultura organizacional, reconhecendo que nos serviços predominam características das culturas Clã e Hierárquica. No entanto, as discrepâncias entre a cultura atual (vigente) e a cultura futura preferida (ideal) indicaram que os trabalhadores, apesar de desejarem manter essas culturas em determinadas dimensões, idealizaram trabalhar num ambiente organizacional com características das quatro tipologias culturais. Conclusão: Determinadas características da cultura organizacional devem ser reajustadas, pois podem influenciar na gestão da satisfação dos trabalhadores constituindo um fator crítico de sucesso dos três serviços de saúde públicos.
  • The importance of organizational culture in the performance of family health units – model b in the Algarve region

    Context and Objectives: The recent reform of Primary Health Care brought about important developments, such as the creation of the Health Care Clusters and the Family Health Units, which are innovative in terms of health care provision, with a focus on improving access to care, health and disease management, efficiency and effectiveness gains, quality of care, and user satisfaction. Increasingly considered as an essential organizational attribute for the success of organizations, knowing the organizational culture that prevails in family health units is essential for the implementation of a new work culture in Family Health Units (FHUs) with a type B management model, which is characterized as a more rigorous management model in terms of team performance, clinical governance, and teamwork. Using the Contrasting Values Model as theoretical support, this study aimed to analyze the importance of the Organizational Culture in the Performance of FHUs with a type-B management model in the Algarve region. Methodology: A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 109 professionals from eight type-B FHUs. The Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) was used to identify the predominant type of organizational culture in the FHUs, and, in order to characterize the level of performance of model B FHUs, data were extracted from the Primary Health Care Identity Card. Results: In the model B FHUs in the Algarve region there is a predominance of the Clan type culture. Organizations with this type of culture remain cohesive due to the loyalty and tradition among their members. Knowledge of the current organizational culture in these units helps to raise awareness of their own culture, helping their leaders to develop and implement projects oriented towards high performance and productivity. Success is defined in terms of teamwork and concern for people. Conclusion: The study points to a predominance of the Clan culture in the analyzed FHUs, with emphasis on the existence of a productive and competitive leader.
  • Glamping in low-density territories: the case of Santo Aleixo da Restauração

    The promotion of tourism in rural areas, in a sustainable and appealing manner, through the specification and diversification of tourist offerings, becomes fundamental for the valorization, visibility, and notoriety of the communities living in these spaces. This study analyzes a new concept of tourist activity, Glamping, whose mission is to promote territories in a sustainable and socially appealing way, where the articulation of natural heritage with tourism seeks to contribute to making territories and rural spaces more charming. In this context, this study emerges with the purpose of investigating "How does investment in enriching the tourist accommodation offer, particularly through the Glamping option, constitute an added value for the local development of an Alentejo village?" It was based on the need to identify the direction of change that a strategic analysis of a tourist project in rural areas was carried out, aiming to formulate recommendations with intervention proposals to support its implementation. The study thus sought to inquire about the strategic challenges and associated objectives, the actors involved, the conflicts, and alliances around these objectives, using the ACtors, Objectives, Force Relations Method (Saragoça et al., 2017 and Pescada, 2019) and resorting to the combination of different data collection techniques (interviews and documentary research) and analysis (PESTEL and SWOT). The results of the strategic analysis revealed that: the main alliances are structured around the objectives "contribute to a more sustainable tourism, aiming at the preservation and conservation of all natural and cultural heritage" and "create new jobs," with strong mobilization from the Local Authority, the Social Center, and the Regional Development Administration; the Local Development Association stands out as the most influential actor, and among the less dependent actors, the Social Center emerges, which, being a local institution, is largely unaffected by the influences of the actors involved. Observing some constraints, especially where trends that jeopardize the implementation and sustainability of the project intersect with the acquisition of financial and human resources, led to formulating as strategic recommendations the need for an economic and social feasibility study and the creation of partnerships and alliances among local and regional actors
