O principal objectivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o papel desempenhado pelo ABA no sistema de controlo da abertura dos estornas pelo estado hídrico das raízes. A importância relativa das mensagens positivas e negativas produzidas pelas raízes foi analisada determinando os efeitos do destacamento de parte do sistema radicular sobre a abertura dos estornas de Commelina communis.
The objective of thls study was to test the role of ABA on the control of stomatal aperture by root water status. In order to determine the relative importance of positive and negative root to shoot messages, we studied the effects of detaching part of the root system on stomatal conductance of Commelina communis.
