Background Existing evidence stressed that the COVID-19 Pandemic had an effect on nursing students' mental health and well-being in clinical placement settings, particularly in ER and ICU rotation. The literature suggests that problem-based and emotion-based coping strategies may mitigate stress, yet it is unclear what impact these have on coping and how effective these interventions are in middle income compared to high-income countries. Aim This research proposal will test the feasibility of using a structured psychoeducation programme in Nursing students in Scotland and Indonesia when preparing for and during placement. Methods A quantitative method with experimental participant blinded feasibility study will compare a psychoeducation intervention with usual placement preparation. A sample (n=20) of final-year nursing students from universities in Indonesia and Scotland UK toward clinical rotation in ER and ICU during COVID-19 Pandemic will be recruited. The experimental group will receive psychoeducation intervention in three sessions weekly. The data analysis will be assessed through Multivariate analysis by General Linear Model-Repeated Measure (GLM-RM) to determine the intervention’s effectiveness in coping ability and anxiety prevalence in both groups. Bowen's approach a feasibility study will be designed to evaluate statistical comparisons feedback between both randomized groups in establish a focus area of feasibility. Research dissemination The possible result will inform the design of subsequent full-size RCT on this particular setting in international comparison. The study results will be disseminated through publication in the fields of nursing education and mental health nursing journals in a timely fashion.pt_PT
