Background and objective:
Microbial resistance to antibiotics continues to emerge as a significant global health
concern. The misuse of antibiotics is an important factor contributing to the development of
antibiotic resistance by bacteria. Urinary tract infection is among the most common bacterial
infections, being Escherichia coli the main etiological agent.
