Abstract(s)
The impact and effects of traditional and emerging contaminants (pharmaceuticals, personal care products, plastics and
nanoparticles) are a cause of concern for the health of the marine
environment. Research directed towards the impact of these compounds covered areas from large scale problems such as ocean and
Human Health, the impact of climate change and ocean acidification to the effects of multiple stressors of nano scale materials from
ecosystem to the exposome. Due to the complex nature of these
stressors, a great deal of research has been carried out to detect
these compounds in the aquatic environment and to assess their
biological effects.
