Gelidium sesquipedale é uma alga vermelha com um ciclo de vida bifásico haplo-diplóide. Esta alga, tal como muitas outras do mesmo tipo, têm demonstrado possuir um rácio de abundâncias desigual, estável ou instável, entre as gerações isomórficas gametófita e tetrasporófita: o rácio G:T.
Gelidium sesquipedale is a red algae with a haplo-diploid biphasic life-cycle. This algae and many other of this kind, have shown to have either a stable or unstable ratio of unequal abundances among isomorphic gametophyte and tetrasporopbyte generations: the G:T ratio.
