Abstract(s)
The aim of this experiment was to induce a higher growth rate of the shrimp Penaeus japonicus through manipulation of the light regimen. The light regimens used were: control (12 hours light :12 hours darkness or 12L:12E) ; 3C (6L:2E) (3 cycles a day) ; 4Ç (4L;2E) ; OÇ (0L:24E). Results show that the growth of group 3C was statistically higher than the other three groups. An other important result is that it was registed a progressive higher growth in the sequence : control => OC => 4C => 3C. Those results show that the light regimen act overthe growth rate and that it is possible to develop light regimens wich promote a higher growth of Penaeus japonicus, and probably of other Penaeids.
