Em que medida uma abordagem sistemática do vocabulário (comum e de especialidade) influi na competência comunicativa dos alunos do ensino profissional? O lexico, conjunto ilimitado de itens lexicais da língua, assume, no discurso, o estatuto de vocabulário. A verbalização das ideias tem como suporte o léxico mental. O volume do léxico mental de cada indivíduo resulta da interacção de dois factores essenciais: as características do sujeito e os estímulos do meio. É pela acção que o sujeito constroi as representações do real e as converte em língua.
In what way can a systematic approach of vocabulary (common and technical) influence the communicative competence of the students from the professional school «Fundação D. Francisco Gomes d'Avelar»? The lexicon, an unlimited set of lexical items of language, assumes, in speech, the status of vocabulary. The verbalization of ideas has a support the mental lexicon. The volume of each individual's mental lexicon is a result from the interaction of two essential factors: the characteristics of the individual and the stimulus from the surrounding environment. It's through action that individual builds the representations of the real world and transforms them into language.
