As alterações no mundo laboral têm caminhado para uma maior igualdade entre géneros,
mas continua a ser mais difícil às mulheres alcançarem cargos de liderança executiva. As
mulheres deparam-se com inúmeros desafios significativos no caminho percorrido até
alcançarem posições de liderança. A presente dissertação é um estudo misto onde se
colocou um conjunto de questões a mulheres (com mais de 25 anos) que são proprietárias
de PMEs e a raparigas (com menos de 25 anos) que apresentam desejos de ascensão de
carreira. O principal objetivo é entender como é que estas mulheres percecionam o seu
cargo no contexto em que estão inseridas e como visualizam o futuro da liderança
feminina. Por outro lado procurou-se averiguar a perspetiva das raparigas, pois o espaço
temporal e o contexto são diferentes. Os resultados mostram que as dificuldades e os
objetivos de carreira são influenciados pelo contexto familiar e social, e que tanto
mulheres como raparigas percecionam diferenças entre géneros, utilizando a motivação e
a resiliência para enfrentarem os desafios diários que lhes são colocados.
Changes in the working world have been moving towards greater gender equality, but it remains more difficult for women to achieve executive leadership positions. Women face numerous significant challenges on the road to leadership positions. The present dissertation is a mixed study where a set of questions was posed to women (over 25 years old) who own SMEs and to girls (under 25 years old) who desire career advancement. The main objective is to understand how these women perceive their position in the context in which they are inserted and how they visualize the future of female leadership. On the other hand, we sought to ascertain the girls' perspective, as the time space and context are different. The results show that career difficulties and goals are influenced by the family and social context, and that both women and girls perceive gender differences, using motivation and resilience to meet the daily challenges posed to them.
