The chapter departs from the broader concept of dark tourism and the sub-niche of prison tourism to propose a definition of dark literary tourism to bring to light the potential of the Chão Bom Resistance Museum as a dark literary place and discuss the educational and cultural functions of such sites as gateways to past historical events, their characters and literary works.
