| dc.description.abstract | A holistic agenda for sustainable human development of tourism is lacking in Small Island States (SIS). The main goal of this research is to provide an integrative framework for measuring employee well-being in tourism-dependent SIS. The first part of this research is based on a review of the literature on employee well-being measurement in the tourism sector. Then we present a multi-level model of sustainable human development in tourism, distinguishing three levels of employee well-being. The second part of this article focuses on the fieldwork and expertise of the authors on well-being measurement in five SIS during 2019-2022. Thus, we provide a framework for measuring employee well-being in SIS by conducting a comprehensive diagnosis of islanders’ workplace conditions and well-being. | eng |
