presente dissertação discute a análise do contributo da Política Regional na na convergência económica e social das regiões fronteiriças, aplicado ao caso Portugal- Espanha, nomeadamente as regiões do Algarve e Andaluzia, isto é, O desenvolvimento económico e Social de uma parte do “corredor natural do Guadiana”.
O principal objectivo foi averiguar se existe convergência económica e social das zonas abrangidas, bem como, a sustentabilidade dos processos de cooperação e desenvolvimento. Esta investigação possibilitou, ainda, saber até que ponto existe integração da região transfronteiriça a partir da análise dos efeitos produzidos pelos projectos aprovados no âmbito do Programa de Iniciativa Comunitária, Interreg I e II.
The present dissertation discusses the analysis of the contribution of the Regional Politics in the economic and social convergence of the frontier areas, applied to the case Portugal-Spain, namely the areas of Algarve and Andalusia, that is, the economic and social development of a part of the natural "corridor of Guadiana." The main goal was to discover if economic and social convergence of the included áreas exists, as well as, the sustainability of the cooperation processes and development. This investigation, made possible, still, to know to what extent it exists integration of the transborder area, starting from the analysis of the effects produced by the approved projects in the extent of the Program of Community Initiative, Interreg I and II.
