O uso da tecnologia no ensino de inglês no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico mediado pela aplicação MILAGE Aprender+

O presente estudo decorreu durante a Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES), no segundo semestre do segundo ano do Mestrado em Ensino de Português e Inglês no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (CEB), com três turmas do 5º ano e duas turmas do 6.º ano de escolaridade no ano letivo 2022/2023 numa escola EB2,3 no Distrito de Faro. Vários estudos têm realçado o potencial da tecnologia e dos recursos lúdico-pedagógicos como veículos de facilitação da aprendizagem e motivação. Envolver os alunos no processo de aprendizagem através da participação ativa em atividades lúdico-pedagógicas é uma das possíveis abordagens para fomentar a aprendizagem de uma forma natural e divertida num ambiente informal.
O objetivo deste estudo é o de analisar o uso de recursos tecnológicos, nomeadamente através da aplicação MILAGE + Aprender da Universidade do Algarve, como método didático complementar no ensino do inglês em contexto escolar, para procurar compreender de que forma esta abordagem pode contribuir para melhorar o processo de aprendizagem e a aquisição da língua inglesa, assim como o desempenho dos alunos no domínio da aquisição de vocabulário e na compreensão de regras gramaticais básicas. Para atingir este objetivo, utilizou-se uma metodologia de cariz qualitativo, com orientação interpretativa e descritiva. De acordo com a questão de investigação e com os objetivos estabelecidos, os dados foram recolhidos através da observação participativa e do inquérito por questionário aos alunos participantes no estudo. A análise dos resultados obtidos permitiu perceber a potencialidade do uso da tecnologia como recurso didático para o Ensino de Inglês. As atividades implementadas demonstraram o envolvimento dos alunos, a aquisição de aprendizagens significativas e o desenvolvimento de outras competências linguísticas no intuito de aprimorar a comunicação; desenvolver atitudes positivas; incrementar a motivação nas aulas; promover o trabalho cooperativo e fomentar o gosto pela Língua Inglesa.
This study took place during the Supervised Teaching Practice (PES), in the second semester of the second year of the Master's Degree in Portuguese and English Teaching in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education (CBE), with three 5th grade classes and two classes 6th grade classes in the school year of 2022/2023 at an EB2,3 school in the District of Faro. Several studies have highlighted the potential of technology and ludic-pedagogical resources as tools to facilitate learning and motivation. Involving students in the learning process through active participation in ludic-pedagogical activities is one of the possible approaches to foster learning in a natural and fun way in an informal environment. The objective of this study is to analyse the use of technological resources, namely through the MILAGE Learn+ application of the University of Algarve, as a complementary didactic method in English teaching in a school context, to seek to understand how this approach can contribute to improve the learning process and the acquisition of the English language, as well as the performance of students in the domain of vocabulary acquisition and comprehension of basic grammar rules. In order to achieve this objective, a qualitative methodology was used, with interpretative and descriptive orientation. According to the research question and the established objectives, data were collected through participatory observation and a questionnaire survey of students participating in the study. The analysis of the results obtained allowed us to realize the potential of the use of technology as a didactic resource in English teaching. The activities implemented demonstrated the involvement of students, the acquisition of meaningful learning and the development of other language skills in order to improve communication, develop positive attitudes, increase motivation in classes, promote cooperative work and foster a taste for the English language.
