dc.description.abstract	O objetivo principal do presente estudo foi de analisar variáveis relação entre a satisfação conjugal e saúde mental numa amostra de 45 pessoas residentes em Portugal. Todos os participantes encontravam-se numa relação conjugal e coabitavam por um período mínimo de três meses. Através de um questionário online foram recolhido os dados sociodemográficos, o perfil de risco, a Satisfação Marital e a Saúde Mental. Os resultados indicaram que 62.22% da amostra não estava satisfeito em seu relacionamento, e na sua maioria (53.33%) apresentaram sintomatologia associada à deterioração psicológica. O maltrato na infância apresentou relação com a satisfação conjugal e a saúde mental (ansiedade). Além disso a parentalidade apareceu como um aspeto associado a níveis mais baixos de satisfação conjugal. Os resultados também destacaram a relação entre distorção idealizada e disfunção social, mostrando que quanto maior a distorção idealizada, menor a disfunção social. A satisfação conjugal geral correlacionou-se com a saúde mental geral, assim como com as dimensões ansiedade e insónia, disfunção social e sintomas somáticos. Embora os resultados tenham mostrado correlações importantes, o estudo ressalta a necessidade de investigações capazes de compreender as relações de causa e efeito entre satisfação conjugal e saúde mental.	pt_PT
dc.description.abstract	The main objective of the present study was to analyze variables related to marital satisfaction and mental health in a sample of 45 people living in Portugal. All participants were in a marital relationship and cohabited for a minimum period of three months. Through an online questionnaire, sociodemographic data, risk profile, Marital Satisfaction and Mental He alth were collected. The results indicated that 62.2 2 % of the sample were not satisfied in their relationship, and the majority (53.3 3 %) presented symptoms associated with psychological deterioration. Childhood abuse was related to conjugal satisfaction an d mental health (anxiety). Furthermore, parenthood appeared as an aspect associated with lower levels of marital satisfaction. The results also highlighted the relationship between idealized distortion and social dysfunction, showing that the greater the i dealized distortion, the lower the social dysfunction. General marital satisfaction correlated with general mental health, as well as with the dimensions of anxiety and insomnia, social dysfunction and somatic symptoms. Although the results showed importan t correlations, the study highlights the need for investigations capable of understanding the cause and effect relation between marital satisfaction and mental health.	pt_PT
