Na transição do Ensino Secundário para o Ensino Superior, o jovem
adulto confronta-se com um conjunto de desafios inerentes à nova
vida académica. Estes desafios iniciam-se com a adaptação à Universidade e,
a este nível, os problemas podem surgir associados a dificuldades e exigências
relacionadas com as actividades académicas, interpessoais e sociais, que o
conduzem ao insucesso escolar, senão ao abandono dos estudos. O presente
estudo teve como objectivos a descrição dos níveis de adaptação e de
rendimento dos alunos do 1º e 4º anos do Curso de Licenciatura em
Enfermagem, bem como a análise da relação entre a adaptação à universidade
e o rendimento académico.
In the transition from the Secondary School to University, the young adult is faced with a number of challenges related to the new academic life. These challenges begin with the adaptation to University and, at this level, problems may arise connected with difficulties and demands either in academic activities or in personal and social relationships, which may lead him to school unsuccess or even to give up learning. The goal of this survey is to describe the different levels of adaptation and fulfilment of students of the 1st and 4th grades of Nursing University degree, as well as the analysis of the relationship between the adaptation to university and the academic progress.
