Atualmente, as tecnologias de informação e comunicação desempenham um papel fundamental ao proporcionar valor acrescentado, capacitando as organizações a definir estratégias de Green IT. Essas estratégias são essenciais para conduzir as organizações em direção à sustentabilidade, enquanto impulsionam a melhoria da produtividade e inovação, contribuindo para um futuro mais próspero.
O objetivo deste trabalho foca-se na conceção de uma framework que resolva constrangimentos e aproveite oportunidades identificadas, alinhadas aos objetivos estratégicos das organizações, com especial ênfase no alinhamento com o Green IT. Considera-se ainda que a framework deve ser agregadora e multidisciplinar, abrangendo diferentes áreas de conhecimento e perspetivas.
A fase inicial do desenvolvimento do trabalho assentou na revisão da literatura no domínio da temática, bem como no estudo e análise de standards internacionais ITIL, COBIT e normas ISO/IEC. Tendo em conta as lacunas identificadas aquando da revisão da literatura e considerando que essas lacunas representam uma oportunidade, a conceção desta framework vem suprir esses vazios e avançar o conhecimento na área.
Os principais resultados estão centrados na framework FACIIL, caracterizada por um alto nível de abstração, o que a torna adaptável a qualquer organização com foco no Green IT. É importante destacar que, dentre esses resultados, está o desenvolvimento de uma ferramenta de suporte à FACIIL, possibilitando a quantificação de indicadores, além da incorporação de ponderações especificas definidas pela organização.
A validação da framework FACIIL foi realizada numa autarquia. Foram avaliados os quatro vetores: Tecnologias de Informação, Financeira, Ambiental e Social. Os resultados obtidos permitiram verificar de forma efetiva a redução de consumos energéticos e custos financeiros, a redução da quantidade de matérias a reciclar, o aumento de produtividade e assim, um melhor alinhamento com o Green IT.
Information and communication technologies play a key role in providing added value and empowering organizations to define Green IT strategies. These strategies are essential to steer organizations toward sustainability, while driving improved productivity and innovation, thus contributing to a more prosperous future. The objective of this work focuses on the design of a framework that addresses constraints and leverages identified opportunities, aligned to the strategic objectives of organizations, with special emphasis on Green IT alignment. It is also considered that the framework should be comprehensive and multidisciplinary, covering different areas of knowledge and perspectives. The initial phase of the development of the work was based on the review of the literature in the field of the theme, as well as on the study and analysis of international standards ITIL, COBIT, and ISO/IEC standards. Considering the gaps identified during the literature review and that these gaps represent an opportunity, the design of this framework fills these gaps and advances knowledge in the area. The main results are centered on the FACIIL framework, characterized by a high level of abstraction, which makes it adaptable to any organization focused on Green IT. It is important to highlight that, among these results, there is the development of a tool to support FACIIL, enabling the quantification of indicators, in addition to the incorporation of specific weightings defined by the organization. The validation of the FACIIL framework was carried out in a municipality. The four vectors were evaluated: Information Technology, Financial, Environmental, and Social. The results obtained allowed us to effectively verify the reduction of energy consumption and financial costs, the reduction of the quantity of materials to be recycled, the increase of productivity, and thus, a better alignment with Green IT.
