Abstract(s)
In southern Portugal, a population of the peacock blenny Salaria pavo
inhabits a mudflat area where there is a scarcity of hard-substrate necessary
for nesting. Males compete strongly for the access to the few available nest
sites and only large males are able to acquire nests.
