| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho tem como principal objetivo compreender o peso da homofobia internalizada, da clareza do self e da vergonha internalizada na saúde mental geral, sendo mediada pela fusão cognitiva. Foram inquiridos 208 indivíduos LGB através da realização de um questionário online que avaliasse as variáveis em questão. Para este efeito, utilizou-se um questionário de dados sociodemográficos, a escala de homofobia internalizada, escala - o portuguesa do Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire Entende-se pelo estudo que o estigma internalizado, a vergonha internalizada, a falta de clareza da própria identidade e a fusão cognitiva têm um impacto severamente negativo na saúde mental. Compreendeu-se que ao estudar diferentes fatores incluídos no espetro de cada um destes, existe um maior ou menor efeito dependendo da área de saúde mental que estava a ser estudada, mas que existe um impacto, maior ou menor, de todos estes fatores na saúde mental. O estudo também revelou a diferença entre grupos de idade, que revela que grupos de idade mais avançada têm uma maior diferenciação que outros grupos, revelando uma maior dificuldade na clareza do self, e um maior sofrimento de vergonha internalizada. Compreende-se, com o estudo, que existe uma grande carência de apoio psicológico de pessoas LGB, na qual se revela bastante importante para convalescer toda a problemática associada com a orientação sexual não-heterosexual. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of the present paper is to understand the burden of internalised homophobia, clarity of self and internalised shame on general mental health, being mediated by cognitive fusion. 208 LGB individuals were surveyed through the completion of an online questionnaire assessing the variables in question. For this purpose, a sociodemographic data questionnaire, the internalised homophobia scale, Self-Concept Clarity scale, the Portuguese version of the Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire, the internalised shame scale and the 28-item General Health Questionnaire were used. It is understood from the study that internalised stigma, internalised shame, lack of clarity of self-identity and cognitive fusion have a severely negative impact on mental health. It was understood that by studying different factors included in the spectrum of each of these, there is a greater or lesser effect depending on the area of mental health that was being studied, but that there is an impact, greater or lesser, of all these factors on mental health. The study also revealed the difference between age groups, which reveals that older age groups have greater differentiation than other groups, revealing greater difficulty in clarity of self, and greater distress of internalised shame. It is understood from the study that there is a great lack of psychological support of LGB people, in which it is quite important to convalesce all the problems associated with non-heterosexual sexual orientation. | pt_PT |
