Abstract(s)
The current study is part of the practical component of the curricular unit of Supervised Teaching Practice of the 1st cycle of basic education. It happened at two different moments: Class A an intervention on 4th grade students in which 17 participated, and for it to be possible to continue the study, Class B, was used, from the 3rd grade, in which 13 students participated. Both classes were from 1st cycle of education, belonging to Faro district. Since 1972, the environmental education in Portugal has been developed in accordance with international environment policies. However, not always it had the due importance on curricular documents. Only after 2017, with the creation of the Student Profiling (S.P), an Environmental Education Reference was edited from the Development and Citizenship program. In the context of research in education, it was studied that the change of behaviour evoked on those official documents, must be preceded from the individual’s perceptions about the environment. In this setting, having as a pedagogic strategy; the environmental problem related with the disappearance of the bees, the children’s perceptions were identified, and their respective change in attitude, due to the events changing their initial perceptions. Therefore, some qualitative-phenomenological investigative methodologies were used, based on investigative-action, and project methodology. For the data collection about the children’s perceptions relating to the bees, child-friendly sketches and student written texts were used. The data organization was made accordingly to the behavioural dimensions regarding the wildlife and environment from Stephen Kellert, through content analyses technique. The results showed that there was an occurrence of transformations of the children’s perceptions. The aim was then to implement an inclusive education in ecological perspective, giving the students the opportunity to have a broader knowledge about nature, from which themselves are also part of.
