Abstract(s)
I develop in this work an analysis of my artistic production, in which drawing is assumed simultaneously as an object of creation and a tool for thought. Throughout the master’s program, I created several works that form an inseparable product of this research. Through pictorial form, I translate various historical and scientific knowledge to which this investigation aimed to contribute. This artistic project is based on a cartographic perspective, related to landscape and memory. To achieve this, it engages in dialogue with the history of landscape painting and the cartographic perspective, without which I would not have been able to conduct an introspection on my creative process. The influences of works and artists that contribute to the creative gesture of this collection of cartographic drawings are also highlighted. As a methodology, the processual approach to creation and the artist’s writing were chosen, materialized primarily through drawing. At the end, a future exhibition project is presented, titled Fly like a bird, which also gives its name to this study. The exhibition project consists of drawings developed throughout the master’s program that, through the materiality of drawing, revisit certain questions about landscape, cartographic perspective, and territory explored in this research, in a complementary double reflection conducted through drawing and writing.
