A pele humana, sendo o maior órgão do corpo humano, protege-o contra agressões do meio exterior e pode até ser um meio de deteção primária de algumas doenças.
Tendo em conta o inverter da pirâmide etária galopante e a passos largos a nível mundial, o envelhecimento cutâneo tem vindo a tornar-se uma preocupação generalizada de todos, assim como as diversas formas de o prevenir e reverter. Não seja uma pele saudável e bonita sinónimo de uma alta auto-estima, e até ter influência na qualidade de vida de cada um.
Há, atualmente, um crescente cuidado com a saúde, hábitos de vida saudáveis e preservação do meio ambiente sendo que, cada vez mais, pessoas optam por alimentos não processados em detrimento de alimentos processados e com conservantes. Estas escolhas começam, também, a alargar-se para os cuidados de pele e cabelo, havendo uma procura cada vez maior na área cosmética do que é natural e não testado em animais, resultando num crescimento deste mercado a nível mundial.
O aumento da procura destes produtos por parte da população, levou a um crescimento exponencial da investigação nesta área e ao desenvolvimento de cosméticos naturais que, através de diversos mecanismos, previnem e têm a capacidade de reverter o envelhecimento por causas internas e externas, sendo um mercado com elevadas perspetivas de crescimento futuro.
The human skin, as the biggest organ of the human body, protects us against aggressions of the external environment, and it can be a way of primary detection of some diseases. Taking into account the reverse of the age pyramid at long strides worldwide, skin ageing is becoming a widespread concern for the general population, as the different forms of prevention and reversal. After all, a healthy and beautiful skin is the synonym of a high self-esteem and it can even affect the quality of life. Nowadays, it has been an ascending concern with health, healthy lifestyle and conservation of the environment. More and more, people choose organic and natural food products over processed and foods with conservatives. These kinds of options are also starting to expand for skin and hair care, people prefer to choose what is natural, organic and not tested on animals, resulting in an exponential growth of this market worldwide. Therefore, the increase in the demand of these products, has led to an increase in research in this area and in the development of natural cosmetic products that undergo several factors that prevent and have the ability to reverse the ageing from internal and external causes, being a market with great prospects of future growth.
