| dc.description.abstract | Uma das realidades sociais que temos vindo a observar é o aparecimento de novas estruturas familiares, reorganização familiar e o aumento de famílias monoparentais. Em relação a estas transformações, as crianças são a faixa etária na qual a atenção deve ser primordial, para que o contexto familiar seja o mais feliz e seguro possível. Com o passar dos anos, também a educação sofreu alterações e as taxas de sucesso escolar, nomeadamente a conclusão do ensino secundário, têm vindo a crescer significativamente. As famílias monoparentais tendem a ser mais vulneráveis em relação às famílias tradicionais, levando, por vezes, que a atenção disponibilizada aos filhos possa ser menor. Desta forma, pretendemos verificar se a estrutura familiar influencia, de forma positiva ou negativa, o sucesso escolar das crianças. Como metodologia de investigação optamos por um estudo quantitativo através da aplicação de um inquérito por questionário a 114 crianças, do 5º ao 9º ano de escolaridade, com idades compreendidas entre os 10 e os 19 anos de idade. Embora algumas investigações pareçam indicar que as famílias monoparentais são mais vulneráveis do que as tradicionais, os resultados obtidos neste ensaio parecem revelar que o fator sucesso escolar não é influenciado pelo contexto familiar em que a criança está inserida. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | One of the social realities we have been observing is the emergence of new family structures, family reorganization and the rise of single parent families. In relation to these transformations, children are the age group in which attention should be paramount, so that the family context is as happy and safe as possible. Over the years, education has also undergone changes and school success rates, namely the completion of secondary education, have been growing significantly. Single-parent families tend to be more vulnerable than traditional families, sometimes leading to less attention given to children. In this way, we intend to verify if the family structure influences, positively or negatively, the children's academic success. As research methodology, we chose a quantitative study through the application of a questionnaire to 114 children, attending the 5th to 9th grade, aged between 10 and 19 years old. Although some investigations reveal that single parent family are more vulnerable than traditional ones, the results obtained in this essay seem to indicate that the school success factor is not influenced by the family context in which the child is inserted. | pt_PT |
