Abstract(s)
e no Inverno .
Arrepios; • Mialgia; • Dores articulares (mais frequentes no caso da gripe); • Dor de garganta;
Melhorar a
modula o sistema imunológico do indivíduo e apresenta ainda acção anti-inflamatória.
defesa antioxidante, activando algumas enzimas (superóxido dismutase e enzimas glutationa
peroxidase).
Flu and common cold are respiratory infections, contagious, most commonly in autumn and winter. They may look similar, but the viruses responsible for the two diseases are distinct, as are the symptoms. Common cold is an infection of the upper respiratory tract caused by a virus, Rhinovirus, and is usually mild. Flu is a viral disease that affects the airways. Transmission of Influenza A, B and C virus is done through the particles expelled by the infected person when sneezing or coughing. Flu or common cold may include one or more of the following: • Fever (higher and sudden onset in the case of flu) • Headache; • Chills; • Myalgia; • Joint pain (more frequent in the case of the flu); • Sore throat; • Oculo-nasal catarrh; • Abundant rhinorrhea; • Other (loss of appetite, diarrhea and stomach cramps). There is no specific treatment for the flu, just to relieve the symptoms of the disease. The best approach is even prevention, with vaccination being one of the best ways to prevent the disease, particularly important for at-risk groups (e.g. the elderly). Improving the imune response is another approach to preventing influenza. Plants have long been used by humans to treat diseases or improve physical performance. Panax ginseng is one of the best known medicinal plants that has been used for a long time. Experimental evidence suggests that ginseng modulates the individual's immune system and also has anti-inflammatory action. Ginseng and / or its components, for example, ginsenoside protopanaxatriol have been described as good free radical scavengers acting on antioxidante defense systems, activating some enzymes (superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase enzymes). This work intends to make a systematic review based on scientific publications on the use of Panax ginseng in flu and common cold.
