Este estudo incide sobre o projeto Saúde Oral Crianças e Jovens dos 7, 10 e 13 anos no município de Albufeira, em três anos letivos – 2016-2017, 2017-2018 e 2018-2019. Este projeto integra o Programa Nacional de Promoção da Saúde Oral da Direção-Geral da Saúde. A investigação pretende contribuir para a área da gestão dos cheques-dentista através de um contributo para o processo de tomada de decisão. O problema de investigação que desencadeou o estudo foi a existência de um número significativo de cheques-dentista que não são utilizados anualmente. O método de investigação utilizado foi um método de três-vias, mais especificamente a Análise Triádica Parcial (PTA) que permitiu analisar as seguintes variáveis: número de crianças abrangidas, número de cheques-dentista emitidos, número de cheques-dentista emitidos utilizados e não utilizados, formação académica do pai e da mãe, por faixa etária, nos três anos letivos. Da análise verificaram-se três padrões comportamentais e as variáveis que tiveram maior e menor influência na utilização e não utilização dos cheques-dentista. Concluiu-se que, a não utilização dos cheques-dentista refletem um padrão comportamental comum, o número de alunos abrangidos bem como o número de cheques-dentista emitidos têm influência na utilização dos cheques-dentista aos 7 e 13 anos, a utilização dos cheques-dentista pela faixa etária de 10 anos é um padrão comportamental distinto dos outros, a influência da formação académica dos pais na utilização dos cheques-dentista não foi semelhante nos períodos do estudo e não se verificou em nenhum dos anos letivos maior influência da formação académica dos pais nos cheques-dentista não utilizados. Foram igualmente identificadas situações com potencial de melhoria e apresentadas as limitações da investigação, sugestões para próximos estudos e um conjunto de orientações para a área da gestão do programa.
This study focuses on the Oral Health project for 7, 10 and 13 aged Children and Young People in the municipality of Albufeira, during three school years – 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. This project is part of the National Promotion of Oral Health Program of the Directorate-General for Health. The research aims to contribute for the area of dental voucher management through decision making process. The triggered research problem for the study, was the existence of a significant number of dental vouchers that are not used annually. The research method used was a three-way method, more specifically the Partial Triadic Analysis (PTA) which allowed analyzing the following variables: number of children reached, number of dental vouchers issued, number of dental vouchers issued used and not used, father's and mother's academic background, age group, during the three academic years. The analysis presented three behavioral patterns and the variables that had the greatest and least influence on the use and non-use of dental vouchers. It was concluded that the non-use of dental checks reflects a common behavioral pattern, the number of students reached as well as the number of dental vouchers issued have an influence on the use of dental checks at 7 and 13 years old, the use of dental vouchers, for the age group of 10 years there is a distinctive behavioral pattern from the others, the influence of parents' academic background on the use of dental vouchers was not similar in the study periods and there was no greater influence of academic background in any of the school years from parents on unused dental checks. It was identified the potential for improvement and the limitations of this research, with suggestions for future studies and a set of guidelines for the program management area were presented.
