Abstract(s)
No presente trabalho procurou-se compreender como é implementada a Educação
Ambiental na Comunidade Educativa de Vila Real de Santo António, concelho que
inclui no seu território a Reserva Natural do Sapal de Castro Marim e Vila Real de
Santo António (RNSCMVRSA), e como se relaciona com a referida área protegida.
Para o efeito recorreu-se à análise dos Projectos Educativos e Planos Anuais de
Actividades das escolas, entrevistou-se a responsável pela Educação Ambiental na área
protegida e aplicaram-se questionários a alunos e a professores da Escola E.B. 2,3 D.
José I. No tratamento dos dados recolhidos por questionário, a Análise de Conteúdo e a
Estatística Descritiva constituíram os métodos utilizados.
No geral concluiu-se que: o relacionamento entre a área protegida e a comunidade
educativa é meramente formal; a Educação Ambiental desenvolvida nas escolas é
realizada por docentes na sua maioria sem formação na área, que recorrem a estratégias
passivas cujo objectivo é a sensibilização dos alunos para os problemas ambientais. O
estudo do meio local não é privilegiado assim como a prática da interdisciplinaridade.
Quanto aos alunos constatou-se que se interessam pela temática ambiental apesar de
pouco sensibilizados para os problemas ambientais locais.
Face ao exposto apresentaram-se recomendações que poderão contribuir para a
melhoria da prática pedagógica e do trabalho de parceria entre a comunidade educativa,
a área protegida e a autarquia
When considering a region as Vila Real de Santo António, wich includes the Natural Reserve of Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António (RNSCMVRSA). it becomes necessary to understand how Environmental Education is developed within lhe community and its own education. The thesis hereby presented explains the relation between this Education and this Environment. To achieve such an explanation there was the analysis of Annual Activities Plans, Educational Projects and of the questionnaires done to studenls and teachers of EB 2.3 D. José I. The responsible for the Environmental Education in RNSCMVRSA was also interviewed. The data was analysed through Content Analysis and Descriptional Statistics. In global terms, it was concluded the relationship between the protected area and the education community is merely formal; the Environmental Education developed at school is thaught by teachers with no Education in such areas, and who use passive stralegies hoping to give to the students a sense of protection towards the Environmente. There isn't much work between the different subjeets, and there isiTt any concem to study lhe region surrounding lhe schools. Even though students areiTt aware of these Environmental problems, they have shown through their questionnaires the will to solve and face these problems. Ali these things considered, more suggestions were exposed that, hopefully, will contribute to the improvement of lessons and effective work between the schools system, the protected area and the City Elall
