Abstract(s)
A educação científica e, concretamente, o trabalho experimental são vectores
que aparecem claramente enfatizados no Programa do 1° Ciclo. Neste contexto,
delineou-se o presente estudo com as seguintes finalidades: avaliar as concepções e
práticas dos professores em termos do ensino da Física; avaliar os eleitos de um
programa de formação que tinha em vista implementar nas aulas de estudo do meio um
ensino baseado na experimentação; e determinar se as actividades experimentais que
foram desenvolvidas favorecem a aprendizagem dos alunos e de que modo vão de
encontro aos objectivos estabelecidos pelo Ministério da Educação para melhorar o
ensino e a aprendizagem das ciências.
Science education and specially the use of experimental work are vectors clearly emphasized in the Primary School Curriculum. In this context, the study was delineated with the following aims: to assess the conceptions and practises of the teachers concerning the teaching of Physics; to assess the effects of a teacher education program prepared to promote science classroom teaching based on experimentation; and determine whether the experimental activities developed and implemented promoted student learning and in what way do they follow the Ministry of Education defined goals to improve science teaching and learning.
