Abstract(s)
Fundamentado na literatura relevante sobre o tema. o presente estudo tem como
objectivo geral dar o seu contributo para a melhoria do ensino e da aprendizagem
significativa das Ciências da Natureza.
Estudaram-se questões como, se, e de que modo, o uso de metodologias de
aprendizagem cooperativa, no trabalho cientifico desenvolvido por alunos de Ciências
da Natureza do quinto ano de escolaridade, influencia os conhecimentos, as
competências e as atitudes desses alunos, quais os comportamentos verbais que os
professores e os alunos evidenciam nas aulas e as percepções dos protessores
relativamente ao seu desempenho e aos eteitos dessas metodologias sobre os alunos.
0 estudo envolveu formação dos protessores e aplicação da experiência com os
alunos, seitundo uma perspectiva de investigaçào-acçào. com observação das acções na
sala de aula, feedback e reinvestimento nas acções subsequentes. Analisaram-se eteitos
sobre os alunos relativos ao tópico " diversidade dos seres vivos / diversidade dos
animais"', segundo duas dimensões, uma de natureza qualitativa e exploratória,
descritiva do processo (percepções e opiniões) e outra quantitativa, que avalia os eteitos
do estudo (conhecimentos, competências, atitudes e comportamentos verbais), através
de procedimentos inferenciais.
Mostra-se, a semelhança de outros estudos que. a) a aprendizagem cooperativa
pode melhorar os conhecimentos, algumas competências cientificas e capacidades de
comunicação dos alunos "mais fracos, médios e fortes"'; b) a discussão inter e entre
equipas promove os comportamentos verbais dos protessores e dos alunos c) uma
formação de professores segundo modelos idênticos aos usados, centrada nas praticas e
na retlexào dessas práticas em comunidade de educadores, pode aumentar a eticacia e a
motivação do professor no ensino da disciplina.
Based in relevant literature about the theme. this study has the main purpose of contributing to the improvement of learning and teaching activities in the nature of science. Questions have been studied such as if and how the use of cooperative learning methods in scientific work developed by 5 th grade nature science students influence their knowledge, competence and attituds. Verbal behaviour evidenced by teachers and students in classroom and teacher perceptions about their performance and about the effects of these methods in students have also been examined. The study involved teachers formation and usage of experiment in students. through an investigation-action perspective, with observation of attiuds in classroom. feedback and reinvestiment in subsequent accions. Students conceptions related to the topic "diversity of living creatures/diversity of animais"" wer analysed in two dimensions. one qualitative. exploratory and descriptive of the process (perceptions and opinions) and the other quantitative and evaluative of the effects of this study (conceptions, competence. attituds and verbal behaviour, throught inferential procedures). Similar to other studies. the results show that: a) cooperative learning might improve knowledge. scientific competence and communication abilities of "week. médium and strog"' students; b) discussion among and between teams promote teachers and students verbal behaviour; c) Teachers" formation throught models identical to the ones used here. centered in pratice and reflection of pratice in educators comunity. enhance teachers effectiveness and motivation in subject instruction.
