Abstract(s)
O presente relatório foi realizado no âmbito do estágio de segundo ano do Mestrado em Direção e Gestão Hoteleira, da Escola Superior de Gestão Hotelaria e Turismo, da Universidade do Algarve. Tem como objetivo principal aprofundar conhecimentos adquiridos neste Mestrado e observar a sua aplicabilidade na realidade de uma unidade hoteleira no Algarve, o Clube Vila Rosa.
Não pretende apenas observar as operações realizadas num empreendimento de pequenas dimensões - em especial no setor do alojamento - mas também colaborar com linhas de pensamento que contribuam para melhorar a gestão de pequenas unidades turísticas.
Este empreendimento turístico, como tantos outros existentes na região, enfrenta grandes desafios, especialmente em tempos de crise económica, como aquela que se perspetiva no período pós-pandémico (COVID-19), em que a capacidade de resiliência, adaptação e boa gestão estarão à prova e ditarão a sobrevivência de muitas unidades.
Assim, espero contribuir com algumas análises, como a SWOT adaptada à atualidade que vivemos; a análise da oferta e da procura nacional e regional e algumas métricas e KPIs de gestão de receita que possam ajudar a tomar, por parte dos gestores hoteleiros, decisões para melhorar o desempenho futuro das suas organizações.
This report is part of the internship developed as a component of the second year of the master's degree in Hotel Management of the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism at the Algarve University. Its main objective is to reinforce the knowledge acquired in this Master studies and to observe its applicability in a hotel unit reality at this region, the Clube Vila Rosa. Its purpose is not only to observe the operations carried out in a small hotel unit - especially in the accommodation sector - but also to contribute with lines of thought that may challenge the management of small touristic units. This hotel, like so many others in the region, faces great challenges, especially in times of economic crisis, such as the one that is expected in the post-pandemic period (due to COVID-19), in which resilience, adaptation and good management policies will be a test and will dictate the survival of many hotel units. Therefore, I hope to contribute with analyzes, such as the SWOT adapted to the current days, the national and regional hotel offer and revenue management metrics that may provide solid basis for the decision-making process of this company and others in the future.
