| dc.description.abstract | Estuaries and adjacent coastal areas are very different in terms of water circulation patterns, morphology, anthropogenic pressures, etc. Thus, general sampling rules are difficult to recommend. In this chapter we refer to the ecological relevance of some chemical parameters, the methods or equipment that can be used, and where and when to collect samples.
