| dc.description.abstract | A literatura científica revela que o cancro da mama e a mastectomia estão associados uma perceção de estigma negativo, que se refere ao conjunto de crenças e representações individuais e sociais negativas que emergem da ideia de sofrimento, morte, perda da feminilidade e da sexualidade subjacentes a esta experiência. Deste modo, o objetivo deste estudo é fazer uma ligação entre o estigma internalizado e a autoestima sexual, em mulheres com cancro da mama, fazendo a distinção entre as mulheres que não realizaram mastectomia e as mulheres que se submeteram à cirurgia. A amostra neste estudo, realizado através da aplicação de um questionário online, é constituída por 166 mulheres, entre os 18 e os 73 anos de idade, sendo que 121 das mulheres têm cancro da mama e 71 mulheres não realizaram mastectomia, enquanto que 51 submeteram-se ao processo cirúrgico. | dc.description.abstract | The scientific literature shows that breast cancer and mastectomy are associated with a negative stigma that refers to the set of beliefs and individual and social negative representations emerging from the idea of suffering, death, loss of femininity and sexuality underlying this experience. Thus, the aim of this study is to make a link between internalized stigma and sexual self-esteem in women with breast cancer, distinguishing between women who underwent mastectomy and women who have the surgery. The sample in this study, carried through the application of an online questionnaire, consists of 166 women between 18 and 73 years old with breast cancer, 71 didn't underwent the mastectomy and 51 underwent the surgical process. This work is part of the 2nd year of the Masters in Clinical and Health Psychology taught by the Algarve University - Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. | pt_PT |
