dc.description.abstract	A “Educação Intercultural. Escolarização das Crianças Ciganas” é um estudo de caso que privilegia a abordagem qualitativa. A intenção de perceber como se pratica a educação intercultural, num contexto de feição multicultural, influenciado por um projecto que preconiza objectivos de natureza intercultural, traduz o enquadramento dos propósitos da presente investigação. A interculturalidade percepcionada por alguns teóricos como uma estratégia, em matéria de escolarização das crianças ciganas, motivou o início do nosso percurso: “Em que medida a implementação de práticas em educação intercultural promove a escolarização das crianças ciganas?” Os instrumentos de observação utilizados, a ficha da escola, a entrevista e a análise de conteúdo, permitiram observar e analisar as práticas em educação intercultural. A reflexão que contempla os intuitos de uma educação intercultural e o desencadeamento de uma acção que consente o reconhecimento e a valorização, a compreensão e a aceitação dos vários grupos étnicos e culturais, bem como a interacção e o diálogo, e o relacionamento entre os diferentes indivíduos, evidenciou-se através dos esforços empreendidos pelos órgãos responsáveis que integram o Agrupamento Vertical de Escolas, por todos os intervenientes no projecto Nómada e pela população da Escola Básica do 1º ciclo.	por
dc.description.abstract	“Intercultural Education. Gypsy Children Education” is a case study that privileges a qualitative approach. The intent in understanding how intercultural education is practiced, in a multicultural context, influenced by a project that recognizes intercultural objectives, reflects the purpose framework of this investigation. Intercultural education, seen by some as a strategy concerning the schooling of gypsy children, was the motivation necessary to begin our study: “In what degree does the implementation of intercultural practices promote the schooling of gypsy children?” The observation and analysis of the intercultural practices was possible by the utilization of observation instruments, the school record, interviews and content analysis. A reflection that contemplates the purposes of intercultural education and the breaking of an action that yields the acknowledgment and valorisation, the understanding and acceptance of different ethnic and cultural groups, as well as interaction, dialogue and the relationship between individuals has been evidenced by the efforts undertaken by the directors of the Vertical School Group, by all the participants in the Nomada Project and by the school population of the Elementary School.	por
