No presente relatório são descritas as atividades e o estudo de caso desenvolvidos durante
o estágio na empresa Artgilão de Tavira, que decorreu entre outubro de 2019 e julho de
2020.
A entidade propôs a concretização de um estudo relacionado com o turismo na Semana
Santa em Tavira, cujo objetivo principal foi identificar os impactos positivos e negativos
do Turismo associados à Semana Santa em Tavira, na perspetiva da sua Comissão
Organizadora.
Como objetivos específicos determinaram-se: conhecer o papel da Comissão
Organizadora; determinar os impactos económicos, sociais, culturais e religiosos da
Semana Santa em Tavira; descrever o seu contributo para a construção de uma imagem
positiva de Tavira; conhecer o grau de envolvimento das comunidades neste evento;
conhecer as perceções sobre as motivações para os turistas visitarem Tavira das pessoas
envolvidas na organização da Semana Santa; e as opiniões que os entrevistados têm sobre
o turismo e os turistas.
Este estudo de caso – a Semana Santa em Tavira – é uma investigação de natureza
qualitativa, utilizando como método principal de suporte à investigação a realização de
entrevistas exploratórias, semiestruturadas, aos membros da Comissão Organizadora da
Semana Santa em Tavira.
Os resultados evidenciam perceções muito positivas sobre o turismo na Semana Santa e
perspetivam como vantajoso o desenvolvimento turístico associado.
De forma geral, os entrevistados partilham de uma visão positiva sobre os benefícios
económicos, sociais e culturais gerados pela Semana Santa em Tavira. A análise revela
também que é difícil perceber e identificar as mudanças económicas provocadas pela
atividade turística na Semana Santa, pela ausência de dados concretos disponíveis.
The following report describes the activities and the case study developed during the internship at the company Artgilão Tavira, which took place between October 2019 and July 2020. The entity proposed to carry out a study related to tourism in Holy Week in Tavira, whose main objective was to identify the positive and negative impacts of Tourism associated with the Holy Week in Tavira, from the perspective of its Organizing Committee. The specific objectives were: to know the role of the Organizing Committee; determine the economic, social, cultural and religious impacts of the Holy Week in Tavira; describe their contribution to the construction of a positive image of Tavira; know the degree of involvement of the communities in this events; get to know the perceptions about the motivations for tourists to visit Tavira by the people involved in the organization of the Holy Week; and the opinions the interviewees have about tourism and tourists. This case study – Holy Week in Tavira – is an investigation of a qualitative nature, using exploratory, semi-structured interviews with members of the Organizing Committee of Holy Week in Tavira, as the main method to support the investigation. The results show very positive perceptions about tourism in Holy Week and see the associated tourism development as an advantage. In general, respondents share a positive view of the economic, social and cultural benefits generated by Semana Santa in Tavira. The analysis also reveals that it is difficult to understand and identify the economic changes caused by tourist activity during Holy Week, due to the lack of concrete data available.
