Abstract(s)
A biorremediação surge actualmente como uma tecnologia com elevado potencial
na recuperação de ambientes poluídos. As suas vantagens económicas e a sua versatilidade
no tratamento de águas residuais urbanas, resíduos petrolíferos, solos e águas
contaminados com metais pesados, pesticidas, e outros, são factores a ter em conta pela
sociedade na procura do desenvolvimento sustentável.
Alguns factores controladores do seu desenvolvimento são científicos, mas outros
dependem do conhecimento e da percepção que a sociedade tem da tecnologia. Estes
factores, de tipo não científico, podem ser o potencial económico, a regulamentação, o
investimento na investigação e os recursos humanos. Os mais limitativos actualmente são a
carência de investigação específica e a falta de recursos humanos com formação nas áieas
implicadas nesta tecnologia, nomeadamente: microbiologia, biologia molecular,
bioquímica, engenharia hidráulica, informática, etc.
Este trabalho pretende divulgar a biorremediação a um público Jovem que no futuro
possa ter interesse pela formação e investigação nesta área. Nesse sentido foi desenvolvido
um CD-ROM interactivo, com o apoio do software Flash 8 e Dreamweaver 8, com
informação sobre os fundamentos da biorremediação. Esta ferramenta foi desenhada com
potencial para ser disponibilizada através da Internet.
Nowadays the bioremediation appears as a technology with high potential in the recovery of polluted environments. Us economical advantages as well as its versatility in the treatment of wastewaters, oil residues, soils and waters contaminated with heavy metais, pestieides and others, are factors that have to be taken into account by any soeiety when looking for a sustainable development. Some factors that control its development are scientifíc while others depend on the knowlcdge and on the perception soeiety has of the technology. Economical capacity, regulation, investment in scientifíc research and human resources may be considered these non-scientifíc factors. At the present time the most restrictive ones are the lack of specifíc research in this area as well as the lack of human resources qualified in the areas involved in this technology such as: microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, hydraulics engineering, computing, etc. This work aims to turn bioremediation known by the young people that in a near future may be interested on either a qualification or some scientifíc research in this area. In that sense an interactive CD-ROM was developed, supported by the software Flash 8 and Dreamweaver 8, containing information about the reason of biorremediação. This tool was designed to be available through the Internet.
