Abstract(s)
Este trabalho aborda o problema da reinserção de ex-reclusos do Estabelecimento Prisional de Olhão. O principal objetivo foi analisar as políticas sociais e de reinserção nesse estabelecimento prisional.
A investigação empírica assentou num estudo de caso e foram realizadas 10 entrevistas semiestruturadas a reclusos de modo a analisar-se as suas caraterísticas sociodemográficas, o contexto familiar, a escola e o trajeto escolar, as experiências no mundo do trabalho, as vivências da reclusão e, por fim, a questão da reinserção social.
Tentámos compreender os caminhos que levaram à prisão, as perspetivas dos reclusos face à sua estadia no estabelecimento prisional e os processos de reinserção social, captados estes também a partir das perspetivas dos reclusos.
Os resultados permitem dizer quanto aos processos e dinâmicas de reinserção social, que os reclusos entrevistados manifestam nos seus discursos uma forte dificuldade na transição da vida da prisão para o mundo exterior. Do mundo “lá dentro” para o mundo “cá fora”, sendo que quanto maior o tempo passado na prisão em decorrência do tipo de pena, mais difícil se torna a reintegração na sociedade.
São identificadas as dificuldades de inserção no mercado de trabalho, o rompimento dos laços familiares como algo que agrava as dificuldades de reinserção social, a estigmatização associada à condição de “ex-recluso” geradora de descriminação social e ainda um Estado Social deficitário no apoio social à reintegração social dos reclusos, quer seja pelas faltas no apoio ao acesso à habitação quando necessária, aos apoios à integração no mercado de trabalho, ao acesso ao apoio psicológico ou ainda no acesso aos apoios sociais, percebidos estes como insuficientes para levar uma existência condigna no mundo social fora da instituição total onde estiveram envolvidos e encarcerados.
This work addresses the problem of reinsertion of inmates in Olhão’s Prison. The main objective was to analyse the social and reinsertion policies in this prison. The empirical investigation was based on a case study and 10 semi-structured interviews were carried out with inmates in order to analyse their sociodemographic characteristics, family context, school and school trajectory, experiences in the world of work, reclusion experiences and, finally, the question of social reintegration. We tried to understand the paths that led to the prison, the inmates' perspectives regarding their stay in the prison and the processes of social reintegration, also captured from the inmates' perspectives. The results allow us to say as for the processes and dynamics of social reintegration, that the interviewed inmates manifest in their speeches a strong difficulty in the transition from prison life to the outside world. From the world “inside” to the world “out there”, and the longer the time spent in prison as a result of the type of sentence, the more difficult becomes for them to reintegrate into society. Difficulties entering the labor market are identified, as well as the disruption of family ties as something that aggravates the difficulties of social reintegration, the stigmatization associated with the condition of “ex-prisoner” that generates social discrimination and a Social State deficient in social support to the social reintegration of inmates, whether due to the lack of support for access to housing when necessary, support for integration into the labor market, access to psychological support or even access to social supports, which are perceived as insufficient to lead a dignified existence in the social world outside the total institution where they were involved and incarcerated.
