O presente relatório de estágio descreve o papel do assistente de direção no sector hoteleiro, mais concretamente no Grupo Luna Hotels and Resorts, no Hotel Luna hotel Serra da Estrela e Luna Hotel da Oura entre as datas de março/22 e julho/22 no total de 800 horas. O objetivo passou pelo desenvolvimento da teoria integrada no Mestrado de Direção e Gestão Hoteleira, finalizando o desafio no âmbito do mesmo, na obtenção do grau de Mestre pela ESGHT da Universidade do Algarve.
O relatório de estágio apresenta uma revisão de literatura vocacionada para as áreas de Turismo e Hotelaria.
Finalizando a revisão investigou-se a literatura existente relativa ao perfil do assistente de direção e para os departamentos em que o estágio decorreu. Posteriormente, a abordagem ao relatório de estágio foi considerada uma descrição detalhada do Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela e Luna Hotel da Oura, ditando as funções desempenhadas durante o estágio com a ótica de examinar os perfis de personalidade dos gestores hoteleiros relacionando-os com as suas características de trabalho, de forma a experienciar as necessidades operacionais na gestão das unidades hoteleira.
Assim, o relatório de estágio retrata o funcionamento de dois hotéis pertencentes ao grupo Luna hotels and resorts de quatro estrelas e a sua organização. O principal objetivo deste documento pretende dar a conhecer a realidade do Mundo da Gestão Hoteleira, relativamente à experiência do dia-a-dia de um assistente de direção, visando a adoção de práticas de gestão na colaboração de diversos setores do hotel. Como tal, foi possível identificar a existência de défices em determinadas áreas, nomeadamente na formação e na organização do pessoal, entre outras. Focar as melhorias e críticas construtivas apontadas á gestão dos Hotéis.
This case study describes the role of the assistant manager in the hotel sector, more specifically in the Luna Hotels and Resorts Group, in the Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela and Luna Hotel da Oura, according to the internship that occurred between March 2022 and July 2022. The aim of this document is to develop the theory and knowledge acquired during the master’s degree in Hotel Management and Direction, to obtain the degree of Master by ESGHT of the University of Algarve. The case study presents a literature review focused on the areas of Tourism and Hospitality, but also a deep investigation according to the assistant manager profile described in literature for the departments in which the internship took place. Besides, the following case study describes the Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela and Luna Hotel da Oura, according to the performed responsibilities during the internship and an overview to assess the personality profiles of hotel managers relating to their job fundamental skills to experience the operational needs in the management of hotel units. The case study portrays the operation of a four-star hotel and the organizational framework. The main goal intends to analyze the reality of the Hotel Management World, as far as the day- to-day experience of an assistant director, aiming at the adoption of management practices in the collaboration of several sectors of the hotel. Thus, it was possible to understand the existence of many handicaps in certain areas, regarding training and organizational activities with the staff, among others. Nonetheless, this document focused on the improvement proposal and constructive criticism pointed out to hotel management.
