Abstract(s)

Political, economic, social and cultural changes resulted from the revolution of April 25, 1974. #ey ended the dictatorship and established democracy in Portugal and paved the way for the de- velopment of Media Education (ME) in the country, continuing the Movement of the Modern School in Portugal, created in 1966, under the in%uence of the New-School Movement, which Montessori, Decroly and others were developing from the early twentieth century. #at movement promoted student-centred active pedagogies, such as the Freinet school press.
