Abstract(s)
concorrenciais entre estabelecimentos hoteleiros (estratégia de similitude pura;
The growing tourist noloriety of Évora has undoubtcdly intluenced the provision of hotel aceommodation and availahility, hoth quantitatively and qualitatively. The faet that Évora is today a privileged eity with ample hotel establishments, located centrally in lhe provinee of Alentejo, makes it important to assess the eurrent competitive reality of the existing hotel sector/industry. In order to understand these issues more fully, this dissertation looks to study lhe modelling of Évora's hotel establishments in terms of competitiveness. In specific, key questions such as, lhe definition of a static and recursive multiequalion model, in order lo examine lhe strategic competitive edge among hotel establishments sei in Évora, will be raised. Three theoretical hypotheses on competitive bchaviour among hotel establishments: pure similarity strategy, pure differentiation strategy, and intermediate/balance strategy, are proposed. The resulls obtained in this research are consistent with the first hypothesis that suggests that Évora"s hotel establishments tend to be similar, i.e., tend to be close both in terms of geography and product.
