Abstract(s)
(a) Analisar os efeitos da felicidade no trabalho na motivação dos colaboradores;
(b) Perceber a relação entre felicidade no trabalho na performance individual;
Over the years, organizations, including those in the hotel sector, have increased their levels of concern for the happiness of their employees. Thus, there has been an increasing development of studies related to this topic, but these are not enough to define which aspects should be adopted for the development of this factor. This growing concern, both on the part of professionals and on the part of researchers, gave rise to the need to carry out this study. The main objective in the hotel context is to study the connection between happiness at work, motivation, and performance of employees. Thus, the specific objectives stipulated are: (a) Analyze the effects of happiness at work on employee motivation; (b) Understand the relationship between happiness at work and individual performance; (c) Understand the relationship between motivation at work and individual performance. In this context, the study is based on a literature review, as well as a quantitative analysis of data relating to the application of a structured questionnaire to 129 employees in the hotel sector. The statistical technique used was SEM (Structural Equation Modeling), and the program used in this study was SmartPLS4 (Ringle et al., 2022). This research assumes that the three variables of happiness at work, employee motivation and individual performance are related. The results obtained led to conclusions regarding the hypotheses formulated. This study has reinforced the importance of happiness in the workplace in the context of hospitality, and organizations should adopt measures to stimulate this factor.
