Abstract(s)

Structural ambiguity resolution in natural language text is an active field of research. Ambiguity is where a structural element in a text causes the interpretation of the text in more than one way. Prepositional Phrases (PP) introduce significant amount of structural ambiguity since how a PP modifies another phrase can often be traced beyond the syntactic scope of a sentence. It is rather intuitive that semantic knowledge is important to model the phenomenon properly. Proper semantic interpretation though can be difficult to achieve.
