Abstract(s)
Este estudo teve como principal objetivo analisar a relação entre suporte dos pares e exploração vocacional, considerando o efeito mediador das competências socioemocionais, numa amostra de estudantes do 9º ano de escolaridade (N= 179). Os estudos na área da carreira têm-se debruçado essencialmente no papel dos pais na exploração, sendo por isso de suma importância procurar evidência que sustente o papel dos pares na vida dos alunos, pois estes estão presentes nas diversas etapas da vida, sendo que é na adolescência que se intensifica a procura dos amigos como rede de apoio. Ao analisar o efeito do Suporte dos Pares nas variáveis da Carreira verificou-se relações positivas e significativas na Exploração de si e Exploração Sistemática quando relacionadas à Comunicação dos Pares. Já a Alienação revelou relações negativas não significativas com as variáveis vocacionais em análise. A nível geral, os resultados permitiram identificar preditores significativos positivos nas Competências Socioemocionais (Persistência, Curiosidade e Resistência ao Stress). No que concerne aos efeitos de mediação foram considerados significativos 6 efeitos indiretos, sendo estes mediados pela Orientação para os Outros e pela Orientação para a Tarefa. Os resultados do presente estudo poderão influenciar pesquisas futuras e contribuir em grande parte para a explicação das relações entre as variáveis contextuais e os antecedentes da carreira.
This study's main objective was to analyse the relationship between peer support and vocational exploration, considering the mediating effect of socio-emotional skills, in a sample of 9th year students (N= 179). Studies in the career area have essentially focused on the role of parents in exploration, which is why it is extremely important to look for evidence that supports the role of peers in students' lives, as they are present at different stages of life, and it is during adolescence that the search for friends as a support network intensifies. When analysing the effect of Peer Support on Career variables, positive and relevant relationships were obtained in Self-Exploration and Systematic Exploration when related to Peer Communication. Alienation, on the other hand, revealed non-significant negative relationships with the vocational variations under analysis. At a general level, the results made it possible to identify positive predictors in Socio-Emotional Skills (Persistence, Curiosity and Resistance to Stress). Regarding mediation effects, 6 indirect effects were considered significant, these being mediated by Orientation towards Others and Orientation towards the Task. The results of the present study may vary future research and contribute largely to the explanation of the relationships between contextual variables and career antecedentes.
