Abstract(s)
procurando a partir deles caraterizar a casa medieval louletana do século XV e XVI.
The Fundo dos Órfãos de Loulé, comprises a set of ten documents dated between 1408 and 1535, which are currently preserved in the Municipal Archive of Loulé. They are a source of enormous relevance, particularly for the study of medieval Portuguese orphanhood. This Fund presents many aspects related to the judges responsible for the orphans, as well as in terms of legislation and the way in which these courts operate at the local level. In addition, these characterize the data relative to the assets inherited by the orphans and the way in which their assets were administered and managed, considering the safeguarding of their property. In this dissertation, the common assets of the medieval house are analyzed in detail. From the analysis of these assets, it was possible to create a model of what the medieval house in Loulé would look like in the 15th and 16th centuries, being a testimony of the ways of life, highlighting the tastes and everyday habits and exposing the poverty of some and the luxuries of others in the filling of their dwellings.
