This research is part of the field of digital media art, using sound as a central vehicle to explore new forms of representation and interaction, seeking to answer questions about the role of the sound environment in the construction of identity and sense of self. In the context of individual sound reality, this thesis focuses on the role of sound environments and Sound Art in the exploration of sound instances, in order to develop experimental sound portraits of individuals. To do this, it starts from a universe of six case studies for the development of these sound portraits, through the My Mono No Aware artefact, contrasting their creations and the processes inherent to them with the impact on those portrayed, in particular, analysing how they recognise themselves through them. The artefact developed offers a rich experience in multiple dimensions, encouraging deep reflection on self-recognition, emotions and the ephemerality of life, requiring a critical stance on its limits and possibilities, recognising both its innovative power and the challenges posed in an era in which the relationship between human beings and technology is increasingly complex and ambiguous. In conclusion, the analysis of the data collected reveals that the sound portrait is widely accepted as a tool for reflection and individual representation, with a strong usefulness in the personal and emotional dimensions, but with some limitations, albeit small, in its applicability to the professional context.
