Abstract(s)
Este trabalho baseia-se na convicção de que o stress e o coping nos alunos do
ensino básico estão associados ao (in)sucesso escolar, podendo interferir no
processo de ensino-aprendizagem.
Neste sentido, foi delineada uma pesquisa de tipo exploratório e descritivo,
tendo como objectivo identificar e analisar os factores de stress e as
estratégias de coping nos estudantes do 9o ano do ensino básico, e
estabelecer uma relação com o (in)sucesso escolar.
A amostra foi constituída por 278 alunos do 9o ano do concelho de Faro de três
escolas do ensino básico, dependendo da disponibilidade e acessibilidade dos
professores e alunos destas instituições.
Previamente realizámos estudos de campo e uma revisão bibliográfica
pertinente para esta temática, definindo um quadro teórico que permitiu
estabelecer as hipóteses estudadas.
Dos resultados obtidos evidenciam-se os seguintes aspectos:
- a intensidade de stress relaciona-se com o coping orientado para a emoção, e
as estratégias de coping orientadas para a emoção e o evitamento, relacionamse,
tanto com o sucesso como com o insucesso escolar, dos alunos,
constatando-se a relação entre o coping centrado na tarefa e um bom
rendimento escolar;
- formas de coping centradas na emoção presentes ao mesmo tempo que o
coping centrado no problema/tarefa.- a "falta de apoio escolar dos pais", a "falta de apoio da escola nos tempos de
estudo" e a "distância da casa à escola", são algumas das variáveis, também,
associadas ao insucesso escolar.
Tendo em conta os resultados do estudo, estes poderão constituir motivo e/ou
base para futuras investigações.
This work bases on the conviction that the stress and the coping in the students of the basic teaching are associated to the school (in) success, could interfere in the process of teaching-leaming. In this sense, a research of exploratory and descriptive type was delineated, tends as goal to identify and to analyse the stress factors and the coping strategies in the students of the 9th year of the basic teaching, and to establish a relationship with the school (in) success. The sample was constituted by 278 students of the 9th year of the municipality of Faro of three schools of the basic teaching, depending on the readiness and the teachers' accessibility and students of these institutions. Previously we realized field studies and a pertinent bibliographical revision for this thematic one, defining a theoretical picture that allowed establishing the studied hypotheses. Of the obtained results the following aspects are evidenced; - the stress intensity links with the coping guided for the emotion, and the coping strategies guided for the emotion and the avoidance, they link so much with the success, as with the school insuccess, of the students, being verified the relationship among the coping centred in the task and a good school revenue; - coping forms centred at the same time in the emotion presents that the coping centred in the problem/task. - the " lack of the parents^ school support", the " lack of support of the school in the times of study " and the " distance of the house to the school they are also some of the variables associated to the school insuccess. Tends in bill the results of the study, these can constitute reason and/or base for future investigations.
