Embora os peixes sejam vastamente utilizados pelo Homem, seja como animal de estimação, alimento ou indivíduos de interesse cientifico, a sua sentiência mantem-se um assunto polemico entre a comunidade cientifica. Nós consideramos a existência de provas cientificas para concluir que os peixes são, de facto, seres sentientes capazes de sentir dor.
