Abstract(s)
Happiness at work is one of the most studied topics today. When employees are happy, they tend to be more motivated and more productive, which makes companies more competitive. It is important that organizations are aware of this new reality. The context where employees are inserted can stimulate them to develop creativity. Well, happiness can also influence the way employees perform their duties, so affective well-being, in addition to promoting the individual performance of the employee, will simultaneously favor the performance of the company itself. It is also necessary to understand that the family is the support and responsible for the principles of the employees, and, therefore, there must be a certain balance between professional and family life, because when the individual dedicates more time to one level, he ceases the fulfillment of the other level, it is necessary to understand to what extent happiness at work compromises work-family conflict. Thus, in the present investigation, it is assumed that the variables, happiness at work, creativity, individual performance, and work-family conflict are related, so they will be correlated for observation. To this end, a quantitative analysis of the data was carried out, applying a structured questionnaire to 220 employees from different sectors of the economy in Portugal. The results of this study suggest that happiness at work positively influences creativity, the individual performance and negatively the work-family conflict, that is, when employees feel happy, they tend to feel more creativity and performance and less levels of imbalance between work. and the family. In turn, work-family conflict exerts a negative influence on individual creativity and performance.
